WEEKLY TIMETABLE

Here is a general guide to what goes on at our Resource Centre each week. 

We use our Resource Centre as a base, but prefer to get our Service Users out and about as much as possible. Each Service User goes out into the community at least once every day, whether it be the morning, afternoon or for the whole day. Service Users can take part in lots of different activities during the week, they each have a time table which is made to suit their needs and preferences. Please find a time table of all the activities that go on through out the week.

This is our board which is in our Main Room. Every time there is a new member of staff or new Service User we make them a magnetic picture for the board. Karen then sets up the board each morning, with Service Users and Staff who are in that day, along with the activities going ahead each day. We believe this is beneficial as it is a visual aid for the Service Users.

Service Users will either have a 1:1 or be a 'Resource' Service User, meaning they don't have a 1:1 but are part of a group instead. 1:1's and Resource Service Users do still go out for the day together.

*Exercise Group in the exercise room at the Resource Centre

*A group walks up to Home Bargains to get any shopping needed for the Resource Centre then have a drink at Wonderworks museum

*Allotment group in the summer

*Sensory Play session at the Resource Centre

*Bemix sports run by Mike at Ramsgate Leisure Centre in one of the sports courts, the Service Users are supported to warm up and play games such as basketball, dodgeball and cricket

​

*A group go Bowling at Hollywood Bowl (Not in school holidays)

​

*Allotment group in the summer

THURSDAY

AM

*A group goes cycling with Wheel Potential at Toddlers Cove, Canterbury

​

*Hockey run by Inclusive Sport, held at HerneBay Hockey Club. 

​

*A group goes to Its your choice, which is an activity service for Adults with Learning Disabilities, which provides opportunities for our people to form new relationships outside of New Horizons. They provide different activities each week.

​

*Upcycling Group in Upcycling Room at Resource Centre.

*A group spends the morning at Thanet Disabled Riding Centre where they can feed, brush and walk the horses.

*CBA- (Community Based Activity) Some of our Service Users usually go out for the day either in a group or with another Service User and their 1:1

*Pub Lunch (usually split into three groups)

*A group of our Service Users go down to our

allotment at Dane Valley. Usually for the whole day.

*Relaxation session at the Resource Centre

FRIDAY

  • *Relaxation session at Resource Centre, Service Users can have a foot-spa and listen to relaxing music. Service users can have their feet creamed and massaged if they wish; some Service Users choose to have their nails painted.

​​

  • British Sign Language session as a group activity to encourage total communication

​​

  • Disco on first Friday of every month 6.00pm-8.00pm.

  • Please note: Some activities may be subject to change or be added/ removed due to weather, group size, seasonal activities etc.

 

  • Individual Box Work: Our service users have boxes, with their names on that contain things that they like or things they like doing, e.g books, Arts and Crafts materials, bubbles etc. They can use these at any time. If they do not like an activity they are encouraged to use these or for a time filler.

​

  • CBA- (community based activity) We have yearly passes to Wingham Wildlife Park, Wildwood and Howletts. We like to rotate this, so all service users have an opportunity to take part in all activities.
